Toiles Toiles Toiles

Only 2 days left until my exam... I haven't left my flat since yesterday, since im constantly working on my toiles. All im doing is sewing, fitting, correcting, drinking couple of coffees, smoking cigarettes, take a nap and repeat. I guess this will be my future..

Android Dress

When i have started my third year, i thought i was blessed and really lucky with my timetable. Barely full day uni, 1 day and a half day off per week, it just felt so surreal, but i guess my university forgot to write below the table in red the amount of our homework. So basically ive been spending my time  from 9.30 am - 6.30 pm at my uni from Monday until Friday. All i did today was fabric manipulation and running around in east London to get my zips and trim's.  What a nice start to the weekend.

Just like another day

Yesterday i was working on my 4th outfit from 9.30am until late night 23pm. The reason why it took me so long was the fabric manipulation that i will be having on my dress. I couldn't imagine that pleating would take me for so long.

The lower part of my skirt is almost completely with pleats, however the upper part has only a few panels which pleats. My goal for today is to finish the dress and to start with my 5th garment and also to visit the Isabella Blow Exhibition.

Silhouettes

Yesterday was the day where i sketched more silhouettes for my research book and finishing the 4th basic silhouette in toils.

Through my process, i have realized that my major strengths are to emphasize the shoulders in different shapes as well as creating Raglan sleeves, Even though i have been working for my research book since this summer, it has been never boring for me as i daily discover new elements.

Research Proposal

Last week i was so sick that i actually stayed in to work on my research proposal, which is about the recent situation in turkey and the fashion business over there. I will  have to research about history of fashion, Turkish society and Turkish designer now. For each objectives i will have to read at-least 3 reviews.

and the creativity continues..

Unfortunately my website Nanas World is for some reason not working and while its being under construction, i will continue to publish my blogs from my old Blogspot. 

Since my last post ive been working constantly on my research book, trying new design silhouettes, looking for innovative pieces and also exploring many versions of fabric manipulation. 

The more i get into my concept " Metamorphosis" the more ideas are coming up to my mind. Its like an endless book that i'm working on, there are plenty new ideas and many ways to go. 

In the next upcoming days i will go more into depth regarding my fabric choices and therefore im lucky that the weekend is around the corner :)
